Dear Rhio et al,

The following was found in a volume of old DAR Bible records at the Los Angeles Public Library.

"An account of the time of the deaths and (bureals[sic]) of some of my relations and friends, kept by Phebe Wickersham."

She lived in Pennsylvania. The entries begin in 1826 and end with her death - "1876, 3rd mo, 23rd  Phoebe Wickersham, within 4 days of being 90 years of age"

There are 10½ single spaced typewritten pages of these.  The very last page in the volume is: "Birth Record found in the record book of Phebe Wickersham of Pennsylvania."

Although these dates are recorded in the Quaker manner I feel quiter certain that Sampson and Elizabeth were not Quaker since he had been disowned for deserting Elizabeth Jackson and their children.  I would suggest that this was Phebe's manner of writing them.

"1865 - 3rd mo.,10th  Dear Levi Wickersham snr. aged 90 yr., 2mo.2wks.2days"

Gay, was this Phebe the w/o Levi s/o Sampson?

The following indicates that she was Phebe Moore:
"1826,2nd mo.,9th day  Father  Robert Moore
 1839,8th mo.,18th  Son John Wickersham
 1842,5th mo.,21st  Uncle William Brinton
22nd  Mother Mary Moore - sister of above.

I hope this is helpful to some of you.

Mary Alice
