I believe this Jethro was referred to as "Jete" by almost everyone. There is a Jete H. Powell Buried in Oak City cemetery, Decatur County, GA that is the correct age to match this Jethro.

Jete had several nieces and nephews living with him. According to the book "Decatur County Past and Present" these are the children of his half sister, Jimmie Laura Martin, who was married to Middleton D. Powell. Middleton died and 1906 and the children were appointed to live with Jete.
