Location of drydock
This aerial photograph from www.mapquest.com
shows where Cross Keys Road, the small "crick", and the Schuylkill
River all converge. This can be seen near the point where the road is closest
to the river, where the road makes a turn to the southeast as you come from
the west. It is there where James Rickenbach built the drydock.
The large white patch along the road in the upper left is a concrete work
area, and the original Jacob Rickenbach stone
house can be seen on the southwest corner of this patch. Following the
road eastward, the Rickenbach schoolhouse
is next, just along the road, with the Curtin
Rickenbach house behind.
