     This record shows that the Land Grant received by John Gatlin in 1740 was sold by him  to John Sasser in 1745.
7 April 1774 - JOHN SASSER of Dobbs to JOHN SASSER, Jr. son - natural love and affection - parcels being in Dobbs Co - 400 acres - ES Little River - mouth of Jumping Run, on river - by patent to JOHN GATLIN 17 March 1740 - and by said JOHN GATLIN conveyed to JOHN SASSER 17 December 1745

John Gatlin - 1806 Lenoir Co.
      On May 1, 1806 John Gatlin and his wife Susanna of Lenoir Co, NC sold to William Lovick of Lenoir Co.for 262 pounds, 2 parcels of land which were originally granted to Richard Caswell.. Located on the North Side of the Neuse River, East side of Adkins Branch adjacent Stronger Potts, Benajah White,Thomas Dicks patent line-now John Washington's line and William White-66 Acres. Another tract starting at Dick's third corner, Low's corner now Whites corner and Thomas Dick-65 Acres.
