Notes for Leaflet Lillian (Leaf, Leaflet Loveday, Leaflet Lovelock) (Spouse 1)
Name was registered at birth as Leaflet Lovelock DEASON.

Leaflet Lillian (Leaf) was born, 2 November 1902, Fryer’s Creek [Fryerstown]. By 1903 her family had moved to Moonlight, a small village about 5 klms west of Maryborough where her father was an “engine-driver”.

By 1905 the family were probably living in Inglewood where Leaflet’s sister, Zephyr, was born and by 1906, Newbridge, where brother, Hugh, was born (registered Tarnagulla).

By 1909 the family had moved to Moliagul where brother, Thomas, was born (registered Dunolly) and Leaflet’s father worked as an “engine-driver”.

By 1912 the family were probably living in Inglewood where sister, Venus, was born and prior to August 1913, in Bridgewater where Leaflet and brothers, Alfred and Hughie, attended school.

From August 1913 until early 1914 the family lived in Moliagul. Moliagul State School records:
Leaflet Deason; date of birth: 10 November 1902; admission: 18 August 1913; parent: Alfred Deason; parent’s residence: Moliagul; distance from school: ½ mile; parent’s occupation: engine driver; school last attended: McArthur; highest grade attained: 5; left: early 1914: destination: Newbridge State School.

Notes:
♣ Leaflet’s date of birth is correctly, 2 November 1902; and
♣ “Mc Arthur School, No. 1097” is correctly Bridgewater State School, McArthur St, Bridgewater.

Later in 1914 the family moved to Fryerstown where Leaf’s father continued work as an “engine-driver”. However, by late 1915 they had returned to Newbridge (as noted on brother Thomas’s school records) and were still there in 1916.

In 1919 the family moved to Diamond Hill, Bendigo and by 1924 closer to central Bendigo at 627 Hargreaves St. The 1924 Commonwealth Electoral Roll noted Leaflet Lillian’s occupation as: “home duties” and her residence as: 627 Hargreaves St, Bendigo.

Leaflet married John William McInerney in 1926.

After, their marriage in 1926 Leaflet and John moved to Belle View Rd, Bendigo. The 1931 and 1936 Commonwealth Electoral Rolls noted John William’s occupation: “bricklayer” and Leaflet Lillian’s: “home duties” and their residence: Belle Vue Rd, Bendigo,. By 1937 they had moved, along with Leaflet’s mother; the 1937 Commonwealth Electoral Roll noted John William’s occupation: “bricklayer” and Leaflet Lillian’s: home duties and their residence: Havlin St, Bendigo. They were still there in 1949; their occupations noted as before. By 1954 they moved to a new home; the 1954 Commonwealth Electoral Roll noted John William’s occupation: “bricklayer” and Leaflet Lillian’s: “home duties” and their residence: 66 Carpenter St, Bendigo.
