Sometime after 1900 Redver’s parents and family moved to Dunolly where his father, Hugh, died in 1902. It is likely that the family lived in his grandparent’s home and shop on the corner of Moliagul-Dunolly and Monument Roads. The brick shop, no longer operating, and weatherboard home still exist today (2013) (Section E, Lots 1 & 2).

Redvers was probably still living with his mother, brothers and sister in Moliagul as late as 1919.
However, at some stage he moved to Melbourne and by 1924 had married.

There are two entries in the 1924 Commonwealth Electoral Roll. One 1924 Roll noted Redver’s occupation as: “motor driver” and residence: 21 Chetwynd St, Melbourne. As there is no mention of Lillian this could indicate that he had not yet married. The other 1924 Roll noted Redver’s occupation as: “tram employee”; Lillian’s as: “home duties” and their residence: 553 King St, Melbourne. In 1931 they were still living at the same location as the 1931 Electoral Roll records the same detail. However, there is a second listing for 1931 (in an adjoining electorate) which indicates that they may have moved about this time. This ‘second’ 1931 Electoral Roll notes Redver’s occupation as: “inspector”; Lillian’s as: “home duties” and their residence: 71 Chetwynd St, Melbourne. By 1936 they are again living in King St – the Electoral Roll noted Redvers’ occupation as: “tram employee”, Lillian as “home duties” and their residence: 553 King St, Melbourne.

By 1937 Redvers and Lillian had moved again. The Commonwealth Electoral Rolls for 1937, 1943 and 1949 noted Redver’s occupation: “tram employee”, Lillian’s: “home duties” and their residence: 88 Stanley St, Melbourne,,. About 1954 they moved to West Coburg. The Commonwealth Electoral Roll for 1954 noted Redver’s occupation: “tram employee”, Lillian’s as: “home duties” and their residence: 192 Melville Rd, West Coburg.

Redver’s death notice stated “Robinson, Redvers John – late MMTB. Passed away 25 July 1983. Beloved husband of Lillian, loved father of Phyllis (RIP)”. It appears that Redvers worked all his life for the Melbourne tramways [Melbourne Metropolitan Tramway Board] and that he and Lillian only had one child, Phyllis, who had pre-deceased. As there was no indication in the notice of a son-in-law or grandchildren then it is likely that there were no further descendants.

Redvers and Lillian are buried at Fawkner Cemetery, Melbourne (New Lawn Area East, Section C, Compartment F, Grave #59); in the same grave as Mary Florence Foulds, buried 13 July 1973 (age: 68 years, parents: James McIrne Foulds & Beatrice Mary A Bond)
