At the time of Thomas’s baptism in 1809 the family was noted as living at Tresco.

Thomas was part owner, together with his brother-in-law, Jonas Nicholls, John Nicholls (see note) and others of the Prosperous, registered 1830, Tresco, 28 tons, wrecked 27 March 1836 and the New Prosperous, registered 1836, Tresco, 20 tons; lost February 1888, off Lundy Island. Note: John Nicholls is likely to be the John Nicholls recorded in the 1841 Census as living next door to Jonas Nicholls, Tresco.

At the time of daughter, Elizabeth’s baptism in 1840, father, Thomas’s occupation was noted as: “Coastguard Service” and residence: Penberth.
