In 1913 Arthur emigrated to the USA; departing 28 June 1913, Liverpool, England; and arriving New York on the Campania. The ship’s records noted:
Arthur James Pender, age: 28 years, single, occupation: chauffer, last residence: Penzance; nearest relative: father, John Pender, St Anthony’s Cottage, Promenade, Penzance, destination: Akron, Ohio.

Note: Arthur’s destination was his uncle, Jacob Curnow and his family, Auld Farm, Perkins Hill, Akron, Ohio.

Francis arrived in the USA at some stage in 1913; but not on the same ship as Arthur. They probably married later in 1913 as a later Census noted Arthur’s age at marriage as 29 years.

In 1920 Arthur and Francis were still living with the Curnows in Akron, Ohio as noted in the Census:

Arthur, Frances and Margaret returned to England about 1920 as they departed 16 October 1920, Southampton, England on the Mauritania, arriving New York. The ship’s records noted:

Arthur probably returned to England about 1922 as he was noted in January 1923, USA as returning home to 222 South Balch St, Akron, Ohio; his father noted as: James Pender, Gwavas St, Penzance, Cornwall.

By 1930 Arthur and Francis had moved into own home as noted in the Census:

Arthur probably returned England about 1952 as he departed 2 October 1952, Southampton, England on the Queen Mary, arriving 7 October 1952, New York. The ship’s records noted:
Arthur J Pender, age: 67 years, single, residence USA: 988 Nome Ave, Akron, Ohio, nationality: US
Comment: “single” may indicate that Frances had died.
