Edward served in the Merchant Navy during World War II, serving on the S S Queda (British India Line).
In 1949 Edward and Merlyn were living in Mornington. The 1949 and 1954 Commonwealth Electoral Roll noted Edward Thomas’s occupation as: engineer and residence: 7 Albert St, Mornington and Merlyn’s occupation: home duties and residence: Yuilles Rd, Mornington.
Edward was buried at Mornington cemetery – grave #230, Catholic section.
