In October 2002 I traveled to Europe for work. I was able to visit Lachen-Speyerdorf, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Lachen is over 1200 years old and is from where I believe my Rife (Reif) ancestor came. |
| This is the Reif family home in Lachen. House has been owned by a Reif since the 1700's. In German on the top horizontal beam on the outside of the house is written "1890 This house was built by Georg Sauter and his wife Elisabetha Sauter born Theobald". The front part of the home was built in 1890. Jürgen Reif currently resides in the house. While I was in Germany, Jürgen showed me around Lachen-Speyerdorf. |
