Leonardus Spreuwers was involved with the Bokkerijders, arrested, questioned, tortured and confessed, sentenced to execution but pardoned in 1790, and shortly thereafter left Bree, Belgium for Dokkum, Nederland; which is about as far as one can travel heading due north from Bree.
