I.  WILLIAM ENGLISH, son of James and Elizabeth English, was born about 1787 in English's Ferry, New River, Virginia.  This date is estimated based up his mother's birth is listed and 1771.  He married ELIZABETH TITTLE.  He married second time MYRA ANDERSON in Tennessee.  Myra was born in Kentucky in 1800.  She died in 1864 in Panola County, Texas. William English came to Texas before the end of Spanish rule in 1821.  He first settled in Ayish Bayou, San Augustine County, later he moved to Patroon in what is now Shelby County.  At that time Tenaha District, Nacogdoches was its seat of government.  William was chosen to represent Tenaha at the convention of 1832-1833 when he and other delegates discussed the problem arising under the Mexicans' Administration of Texas.  His leadership was commemorated in 1936 when the state place the Texas Centennial monument on the courthouse lawn in Center, Shelby County.  He died in 1836

A. GEORGE ENGLISH, first child of William and Elizabeth Tittle English, was born about 1808 in Tennessee. He came to Texas and settled in Shelby County.   On November 29, 1935, he was appointed First Lieutenant of Infantry of the General Council of the Provisional Government of Texas. December 5 thur 10,1835 he commanded a Company at the storming and capture of Texas. For his service, on January 27, 1840, he was issued Donation Certificate No. 1006 for 640 acres of land.  He also received Bounty Certificate No. 730 for 320 acres of land for having served in the army for a period of at least three months.  On May 31, 1837, President Houston appointed him Captain of a Company of mounted gunmen for duty in Shelby County.  He commanded a Company of volunteers in 1839 and was at the same time President of the Board of Land Commissioners of Shelby County.   The name Colonel George English was recorded in history.   It is written in "Two Centuries in East Texas" by Dr. George L. Crockett "Neighbors of Jonas Harrison were the English Brothers, one of whom was George English who, was first Sheriff of the District 1837 and also first Sheriff of San Augustine County under the Republic of Texas."  Captain English was Lieutenant in Captain A. M. Truett's Company in the Monterey Campaign in the Mexican War. After serving during the Mexican war of 1846, this pioneer was ready for a third war, and enlisted in the Confederate Service.  He fought in the Civil War of 1861 -1865.  Colonel George English, after the war, moved  from San Augustine County to Houston County.  He died in Houston County and was buried in the Old English Cemetery, 11 miles East of Crockett.  The Cemetery is located on land of James English homestead. 

B.  JAMES ENGLISH, second child of William and Elizabeth Tittle English, was born about 1810 in Tennessee.   He married MARIE LUCINDA WALKER.

C. MIRANDA ENGLISH, third child of William and Elizabeth Tittle English, was born in 1812 in Tennessee.  She married JAMES ASA SMITH.  She came to Texas after the Civil War and died after 1881.

D.  JOHN PATROON ENGLISH, first child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born  January 17, 1819 in Texas.    He married MARTHA SANDERS on November 19, 1840. Martha was born in 1828 in North Carolina and died in Panola County, Texas in 1870.   He later married SARAH LUKER.  To this union one daughter, ANN ENGLISH was born.    He moved to Panola County in 1850.He died in 1876 an is buried in Panola County, Texas.  After his death, Sarah married MR. SMILEY.

F.  HANNAH ENGLISH, third child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born in Tennessee about 1822.  She married WILLIAM ENGLISH ANDERSON. 

G.  ELIZABETH ENGLISH, fourth child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born in Tennessee about 1823.  She married HOLLAND ANDERSON  in 1853.

H.  RICHARD BAILEY ENGLISH, fifth child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born about 1825 in Texas.  He married MARY DAVENPORT.

I.  SALINA ENGLISH, sixth child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born in Texas about 1827.  She married WARRICK WHETSTONE in 1853.

J.  PARMELIA ENGLISH, seventh  child of William and Myra Anderson English, was born in Texas about 1829  She married W.L. FITE.   Parmellia died in 1883.

K.  WILLIAM ANDERSON, eighth child of William and Myra Anderson English, died young.

L.  JOSEPH DENTON ENGLISH, ninth child of William and Myra Anderson English, died young.

M.  HARRISON ENGLISH, tenth child of William and Myra Anderson English, died young.
