Obituary of Jessie Reid Martsolf Stotts

Mrs. Jessie Reid  Martsolf Stotts, wife of Russell S. Stotts, of 529 Park Avenue, Baden, died Thursday, April 21, 1966, in her home, following an extended illness. Born in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John W. and Ann Gilbert Reid, she was a former resident of Monaca, Beaver and Baden. Mrs. Stotts was a member of the Baden Methodist Church, and the Emily Grant Circle of the Women's Society of Christian Service of the church. She attended the old Piersol Academy in West Bridgewater and the old Beaver College in Beaver and also Geneva College.  Mrs. Stotts taught school in the Colona School of Monaca under the late D. C. Locke.  She was active for many years in the music circles of the county as a teacher. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Martsolf, Rochester Township; a daughter, Mrs. William (Doris Martsolf) Parsons, New York City; and three grandchildren, Evelyn Mae Martsolf, Richard A. Martsolf Jr., and Doris Martsolf, all of Rochester Township. Friends will be received today after 7 p.m. and Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the J. T. Anderson Jr. Funeral Home, 205 College Avenue, Beaver, where funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold T. Por-ter, pastor of the Chippewa Communty Methodist Church, of-ficiating. Private interment will be held Monday morning in Beaver Cemetery.
