Michigan Lost Ancestors
Hello
I have been researching my family tree for a few years now, My grandmother, Hattie belle
CHUBB, was killed in a car crash in 1955, along with her was killed her daughter
Doris Jane MASSEY and her son Steven Phillip CHUBB. Her husband Alva
CHUBB was unable to care for their two children Walter J. CHUBB born
Feb. 28 1952 and Robin Marie CHUBB born Oct. 3, 1953. For a year they lived with their aunt and
Uncle Clarence and Sarah PARKER. In Kalamazoo. Michigan. Along with their stepsister
Jackie TAYLOR. The kids were very young and too much for their Aunt and given to the state. I have sent letters to the social security dept. that forwards letters to lost relatives with no luck finding them,
Jackie TAYLOR was born May 30,1950 her father Jack TAYLOR died in Alma hospital April 4, 1950. Is there some way to find if these kids were adopted out when they were young and had a name change? even if they were
aren't their birth names on their records, Thank you for your time Carolann Padgett

Hi, I am looking for the origins of my lost family. Joachim
HAACK b. 1828 Prussia m. Sophia KRAMER b. 1842 Prussia. They
had 3 children--Charles b. 1868 Prussia, Albert Christian b. 1873 Three Oaks,
Berrien Co., MI, and Anna b. 1878 Berrien Co., MI. It is likely they
immigrated between 1868-1873. I do not know the port of entry. On
the 1880 Berrien Co., MI census the above names are listed, but Joachim's wife
is Mina. Could she have been Sophia Wilhemina? Joachim d. 1892
Berrien Co., MI and Sophia d. in 1924.
This is my densest brick wall. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Don Haack

Im searching for information on my grandfathers brother GUSTAV
ALFRED
STRAND, born August 15, 1886 in Naverstad Goteborg, Sweden. His father
was John Edwin STRAND, his mother was Charlotta Amelia CARLSSON.
John Edwin STRAND immigrated to the USA and landed at the Port of New
York in June, 1886. His wife followed with children a year later. His
last name was ANDERSSON, but changed it to STRAND (his
given military
name) after settling in America. John Edwin STRAND Petitioned for
citizenship on November 2, 1886 in Florence county , Wisconsin. The
family spent time in Ishpeming, Michigan, Superior, Wisconsin and
Fargo, North Dakota, before settling in Randall, Minnesota.
GUSTAV ALFRED STRAND left Minnesota, according to family legend, to look
for work, and the only information the family has is that he may have
gone West to Montana, Colorado or points unknown.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
