TANNER FAMILY RESEARCH
My main research has
been my father's side of the family - the TANNERS - who were originally
centred around Stroud in Gloucestershire, UK. I have also been looking
at my wife's family - the GREENHILLS. See

of my current researching. The list of names is now over 4500 thanks
to the generosity of a relative (2nd cousin, once removed) in England,
Tom Tanner; my cousin Karlena Lockett who gave
me a huge file of the descendents of John William Allanby (b. 1794, Flimby,
Cumberland, England.) and of James Henry SPAULDING (b. ca 1805, Birmingham,
England), my mother's ancestors; and Lyn Boyes
who gave me a huge file of the descendents of Thomas Greenhill (b. ca 1750,
Gt Chishill, Essex, England.). Thanks also to Viv Kingston who has
added significantly to the Spaulding file, and to Dianne Ashlin, Dorne
Saunders, Andrea, Midge Henderson and John Smith (another 2nd cousin, once
removed), who have also kindly allowed me to use some of their research.
Des Gander gave me a significant Gander file from his
One
Name Study. A "thank you" list is always dangerous because of
the possibility of missing someone. My apologies to any such person
- please let me know if I have missed you!
