Notes from Veryl Firl:
"One source states he said he left Ireland 5 Sep 1796 and arrived Washington Co., PA yet that year. He said he had been a member of the Seceder Congregation of Ta' Boyne (probably Taughboyne) near St. Johnston, Ireland. Buried withhim at the Oak Spring Cemetery is his first wife, Catherine Madeville Rankin and a Hugh Rankin. His will is dated 20 Jan 1818. Note: St. Johnstown, Ireland is located just across the border from the county of Londonderry (which also contains the city of Londonderry), and appears to be in the county of Donegal.
The cemetery in which he is buried is apparently a Seceder Cemetery in Washington Co., PA. His birth year has been given as 1833, but this is not likely when compared to his parents birth information."
