David Elkins, an old and respected resident of Yorkville, died suddenly at his home on Sunday morning last. A few days previous he was helping a neighbor named Rock to load some wool and while lifting he felt something give in the left side of his chest. On Saturday he went to Cloverdale and back, and returned Saturday evening feeling unwell. Sunday morning he got up still feeling badly and went out on the porch of his house to sit down and almost immediately fell dead. It is supposed that the strain from lifting at the time deceased felt something give in his chest caused an aneurism, which burst Sunday morning causing instant death. Deceased was a wholesouled, generous man, who was highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his sudden death.

DEATH OF DAVID ELKINS David Elkins, an old settler of the northern part of the county and who lived near Yorkville, died very suddenly Sunday. He had not been well for some time, having had a severe attack of grip during the winter. He leaves a wife and a number of friends who turned out in large nubers Tuesday to attend the funeral. He was about sixty-four years old and he had resided in this county since 1856.
