The first child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 5 Jan 1801 in what became MO. He married
Lucretia A. Daugherty 20 Dec 1824 in Franklin Co., MO (BkA:9). He is listed in 1830 census of Franklin
County in Saint Johns Twp. with five family members. In 1840 he is listed in Boone Twp.
He is listed as guardian in 1853 for Jon M., Elvira, and William R. Caldwell in Franklin Co.
The 1850 Census of Franklin Co. shows him with wife, Minerva and children: John b. 1834; Cordelia b. 1836; William
born 1838. These children were probably Lucretia's.
His estate was probated in 1853. Langdon was appointed guardian for his children: John M., Elvira, and William R.
Caldwell, minor heirs.
The second child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 11 Jan 1803 Louisiana Territory
(became St. Louis area of Missouri). She married Hugh Jameson 22 Jan 1819 (Family Bible) but have not found the civil
marriage record for her. She died 29 Aug 1845. (Family Bible)
The third child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 27 Jan 1805. The Family Bible has that Felix
died 7 Apr 1817. He would have been 12 years old.
The fourth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 1 Dec 1806 in Missouri
Territory. He married Rachel Decker 29 Jan 1829 (Franklin Co. Mg Bk A). He is listed in
the 1830 Franklin Co. census as living in Saint Johns Twp. with just him and his wife. His estate in Franklin
County (file 1854) names heirs: John, D. Clinton, Nathaniel Green, Lewis B., and Sarah Caldwell, children of the
deceased.
The fifth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 29 Oct 1808 in Missouri
Territory. He married Joanna Williams 25 Feb 1830 (Franklin Co. Mg Bk A lists him as
"Short").
Reigny became a minister at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Gasconade County. He lived there from
1852 to 1857 where he performed marriages for a dozen couples.
There is an R. S. Caldwell with wife Joann listed in the 1850 census of Crawford Co., MO but they are not in the
county in 1860, nor in Gasconade Co.
The sixth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 18 Jan 1811 in Missouri
Territory. He married Arrimetta Sullens 8 Apr 1841 (Franklin Co., Mg Bk A:184). His death
is not recorded in the family Bible. He is listed in the Centennial Biographical Directory
of Franklin County (p. 63) has having a General story in 1853 at Blishs Mills. He is also
listed as a postmaster at Blishs Mills in 1854-5. He was a Mason, 1864.
He was in the 1850 census of Franklin Co. and his wife is listed as Anita. They had William b. 1843; Mary b. 1847;
Amistine b. ca 1849.
The seventh child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 30 Mar 1813 in Missouri
Territory. She married John Stogdon (Stockton?) 4 Jan 1838 (Franklin Co. Mg Bk A:122).
There is a John Stockton with wife, Louisa b. 1816 residing in Dade Co., MO in 1850 (#392)
and may be this Louisiana.
The eighth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 3 Apr 1817 in Missouri
Territory. She married William Bailey 15 Feb 1844 (Franklin Co. Mg Bk A:224). Her death
is not recorded in the family Bible.
The ninth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 28 July 1819 in Missouri
Territory. He married Cynthia Sullens 13 (30?) Oct 1842 (Franklin Co. Mg Bk A:206). The family Bible also has
13th day of Oct. He is listed
as a Mason in 1858-60. At the time of his father's death, he was living in Oregon
Territory. (Franklin Co. Will Bk B:163).
The tenth child of John and Polly Kinkead Caldwell was born 27 Mar 1822 in Missouri
Territory. He died 29 Aug 1843 at age 20. There is no marriage record listed for him
in either the family Bible or the Franklin county marriage books so it is unlikely that
he lived to marry.
The eleventh child of John and Polly Kinkead was born 10 Aug 1824. Their first son, Felix, had died and it
appears that they named another child Felix. He married Mariah Greenstreet 24 Feb 1848 (Franklin Co., MO Mg Bk B).
The twelfth child of John and Polly Caldwell was born 7 April 1827 in MO. The family Bible records a
James P. Caldwell md to Mary Jain Robertson 16 Aug 1849. We have not found that marriage recorded
civilly. A search of the 1850 Missouri Census fails to show them in Missouri. It is possible that he is the
James P. in Boone County MO in 1860.
