The only references to McClung in this book is to Charles McClung who probably was the
land speculator from Knox Co.
p.10: Charles McClung, attorney, represented William Black in conveyance of land to
Robert C. Gordon 1 Nov 1807. It was from a NC land grant #1325 issued 4 Jan 1795, tract
being on Nolichucky River on branch of Meadow Creek. etc.
p. 44:Charles McClung, attorney, representing William Black in land transfer referred to
above. This is a Quit Claim deed in 1814 but refers to previous transaction in 1807.
p. 88:Deed Bk2:328: Indenture 27 Oct 1827--William Matthews and George Courtney, both of
Greene Co., TN, $200 paid, tract on headwaters of Patter's creek, passing Bay's mountain
and being 100 acres, bounded on Grant 1325, 4 Feb 1794, granted by NC to William Tyrell
and conveyed by Tyrell to Charles McClung, by him to George Gordon, then to Mathews.
