The Rope--Pulley Family Heritage Association consists of over 500 members worldwide. Most of us are cousins, our family lines originating in Australia's first convict settlement with the marriage of First Fleet convicts Anthony Rope and Elizabeth Pulley who were married at Sydney Cove on 19 May 1788.

History of the Association:

A small informal  Association was formed courtesy of Barbara Drady  in the 1980's. Barbara assisted by her daughters organised gatherings on:

16 May 1982 at Emu Plains…………………………..500 people attended.

Australia Day 1985 at Botanic Gardens……………..A  small gathering.

20 October 1985 Castlereagh Cemetery…………….about 60 People attended a ceremony to fix a fellowship of First Fleeter's plaque to Elizabeth's headstone.

5 October 1986 at Penrith High School………………...200 people attended.

14 15 May 1988 at Emu Plains………………………….500 people attended.

In November 1993 a gathering was organised by Neville Barlow at Bathurst of several Pioneer Families, among them the Rope--Pulley Family.

It was at this gathering that our Association was formed. Our first formal meeting was held at Castlereagh Cemetery 23 January 1994.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership costs $15 per year.(No multiple years paid ahead please.)   For that you receive our Rope-Pulley Family Newsletter published four times per year. February, April, July and November.
A donation along with your membership fee is always welcome.

Laurie and Helen Harkness manage the ordering and stocking of our family memorabilia. We are a non profit organization with expenses, so fund raising is a ever-present necessity. At Reunions we sell items such as mugs, glasses, tea-towels, plates, caps etc--All displaying the Association logo
