                                                         CHAPTER 1.
     V. Catharine Royer, p. 178, was married Apr 27, 1815 to Philip Wampler,
b.jan 10,1790; d.May 1, 1878. They moved in 1825 to near Dayton, Ohio. We
find in the court house at Dayton that philip E. Wampler bought of David
Wampler, Sept 19, 1828, for $100, 8 A. of land, of N. W. Quarter of Section
28, Twp. 2, of Range 6, e. of meridian of mouth of Great Miami and 2 A. of S. E.
corner of N. E. quarter of Section 19, of same Twp. he sold 50 A., Sept 29,1831
for $600. They were members of the Brethren Church as were all but one of their
twelve children, who settled chiefly in and around Dayton. The children:
