* Mrs. Johnston, oldest child of Elizabeth writes: "She was 49 years
old when she passed away and that was in Dec. 30, 1900." There must be
a mistake here. This would cause her birth to be in 1851. But her mother
had died already in 1850, when the daughter Catharine was one month old.
And Adam was the child that immediately preceded Catharine, so Elizabeth
must have been born before Adam, likely about 1847. This would leave
Elizabeth still the youngest daughter by the first wife, for Catharine died in
infancy. Beside if Elizabeth was only 49 yrs. when she died, or born in
1851, she would have been only 14 yrs. old when she was married in 1865,
which is unlikely.
