CHAPTER IV.

V. ADAM ROYER, p. 301, was married to Elizabeth Sherk, who
was born in Lancaster Co., June 12, 1807; and died in Buffalo Val-
ley, Union Co., Pa., Feb. 26, 1881; aged 73 years, 8 months, and 14
days. His age was 70 years, 3 months and 23 days. He was a well-
to-do farmer in Kelly Twp., his farm joining one of the farms of
his father having previously belonged to his father, from whom he
bought it Apr. 4, 1840. They were members of the Brethren
Church; and their remains rest in the Kelly cemetery, adjacent to
their farm. They had no issue.

CHAPTER V.

V. SARAH ROYER, p. 301, was married, Tues., Sept. 29, 1829, to
George Leiser, b. Nov. 6, 1805; d. Nov. 2, 1890; buried in the
Kelly cemetery. He was a carpenter and farmer on one of the Joel
Royer farms, which he bought from Israel Royer. The church
and cemetery property is on this farm. The meeting house was
removed and the ground on which it stood has reverted to the farm.
George's son John, who now owns the farm, is taking steps to erect
a substantial fence around this cemetery. This sleeping place of
so many Royers should be substantially enclosed, all the stones
straightened and solidly set, the ground leveled and kept neatly
carpeted with a good sod, for worthy ancestors sleep beneath.
George Leiser was a deacon in the Brethren church, and a main-
stay of the work here in its last stages. Sarah had four children:
