VI. MARTHA ROYER, p. 457, m. June 12, 1853, to David F. Eby,
b. Feb. 19, 1828, w. of Manheim, Lancaster Co., Pa., son of Jos.;
carpenter and joiner; moved with parents to Portage, now Summit
Co., O., in 1836; in 1851 went to Yellow Creek Twp., Stephenson
Co., Ill.; later married and established his home there; taught
school in 1851-2 and boarded in the home of Eld. Daniel Fry, son
of IV. Salome Royer, m. John Fry, p. 297; also a music teacher,
compiled a song book for use in Sunday Schools, first of kind in
Brethren church, published by THE BRETHREN AT WORK in Lanark,
Ill.; had also prepared for publication a hymnal, when he learned
that Eld. James Quinter was preparing such a work, whereupon he
dropped his work; after marriage, moved to Lanark, there elected
deacon, helped start the Brethren publishing interest there, one of
promoters of THE BRETHREN AT WORK; elected to ministry in
Jefferson Co., Ill., first minister there, five other members at time
beside him; ordained in 1885, in Mt. Vernon congregation; came
back to Ohio in 1904, now resides at East Akron; no ch.
Eld. Eby beheld the meteoric shower of 1833; says it is greatly
misrepresented, "wonderfully beautiful," stars shot in every direc-
tion. None saw 'meteors strike fences'. It is also incorrect that
shower ceased at day break. Well diggers asserted that shower
continued until 11 A. M.

VI. MARIA ROYER, p. 457, m. Nov. 5, 1865, to Wm. Swinehart,
b. in Portage Co., O.; d. Aug. 5, 1886; m. 2ndly July 13, 1890, to
David Keister, d. Sept. 22, 1906; m. 3rdly Aug. 2, 1910, to Milton
Pontius, b. Jan. 10, 1852; a widower with 4 ch. Maria has had no
ch. They reside in Hartville, O. Members of Brethren Church.

VI. DANIEL ROYER, p. 457, m. 1st Jan. 9, 1868, to Harriet
Young, b. Mar. 6, 1841; d. May 15, 1900; farmer in Edinburg Twp.,
Portage Co., O.; she Congregationalist; he, Disciple; m. 2ndly Nov.
14, 1903, to Emma Kauffman, nee Schlasman, of Myerstown, Pa.,
where he then kept store several years; killed by a locomotive
while walking on the railroad; buried in U. B. cemetery, Myers-
town; 5 ch., all by 1st wife:
