Charles "Charlie" Royer
Charlie Royer,67 of Nampa died Friday,August 9, 1996 at a Nampa hospital.Memorial services were conducted Monday, August 12, at Persons-Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Nampa.
Charlie was born July 21, 1929, at Philip, South Dakota,a son of Charles LLoyd and Stena Helgeson Royer.He grew up on a ranch outside of Philip.
He loved riding horses and worked on various ranches around Philip. He married Betty Hagler on Sept. 24, 1950. In 1955 they moved to Kuna, Id. where eight children were raised. He worked in construction in the Treasure Valley for over 35 years. He worked for Don Young Construction and various other employers as a concrete finisher. Cathedral of the Rockies and Boise Convention Center are two of the many buildings he worked on. On January 29, 1975, he married LaVerne Worsham at Elko, Nevada. Charlie retired in 1991.
Charlie loved farming,fishing ,dancing and playing Bingo and will be remembered as a hard worker.He was a member and trustee of Aerie No.2103 Fraternal Order of Eagles,Nampa.
Survivors include his wife LaVerne of Nampa,his mother Stena Royer of Black Hawk,S.D.,eight childrenand their spouses,Connie and Randy Harris of Wilbur,Washington,Charlene and Steve Wiscombe of Kuna, Carla and Randy Durham of Aloha, Oregon, Cathy and Gary Smith of Meridian, Christy and Vern Williams of Eagle, Collen and Eugene DelaRosa of Boise.Charles Jr.and Carrie Royer and Clifford Royer,all of Kuna,four step children and their spouses,Robert and Jeanette Kettering of Caldwell, Don and Phyllis Kettering of Fresno, California,Ed and Barbara Kettering of Los Alamos,New Mexico, and Sharon and Tim Johnson of Nampa,six brothers and sisters and their spouses, Richard Royer of Spokane, Washington, Merle and Viola Royer of Belle Fourche, South Dakota, Raymond and Millie Royer of Sundance, Wyoming,Wanyce and Walt Hein of Black Hawk, S.D.,Lloyd and Rosetta Royer of Waukee,Iowa.Gary and Donna Royer of Caldwell,Id.,13 grandchildren,15 step grandchildren,16 step greatgrand children,1 great great step grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father.
