He, like his father, was among the Barons summoned to the King's court or council before the existence of parliament in the modern technical sense. He was appointed keeper of Porchester Castle, 1237. In 1240 he sailed from Marseilles to the Holy Land, returning before May 1244, when he was summoned for military service. He married, before 3 December 1235, Nichole, widow of [----]. He died before 16 August 1252.
