He was a schoolteacher at Birkenfeld (1651), then became the parson at Staudernheim (1654-57). Before he died he was ill in bed for 14 weeks. He was buried in the church, to the right side of the altar.

The baptismal records for Staudernheim start in 1656 only. Werner Friedrich Rudolphi himself made the following note on the first page of the churchbook: "I, unworthy Wern. Fried. Rudolphi, have been parson here at Staudernheim in 1654, 55, and 56, and have baptized about 20 children, but as there was no churchbook, and the previous parson did not have the habit to do so, their names and godparents have not been recorded. But now we shall begin in the Lord's name to diligently record all the local baptisms.".
