James Pentland's roots reach to Scotland. He was born in Northern Ireland, immigrated to England then Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and settled in Baltimore, Maryland. His descendants migrated to Canada. This is a journey of a Scots-Irish clan's arrival in the Americas.

In Memoriam

Mrs. Frances E. Yeoman Holmes passed away 
quietly in Ontario, Canada on 31 December 2002.
She was interred in Thornhill Cemetery with her 
husband David Holmes who died last year.

Mrs. Holmes was a wealth of information concerning
the Pentland and Finnigan families. She graciously
shared her research and family memorabilia with
many others. 

I will miss our correspondences and the many little
surprises she would mail to me.
