After submitting what she thought were 19th-century photographs to this site, Cindy Bailey began more intense researching of what turned out to be black and white photocopies of circa 1940 black and white snapshots of original early 19th-century oil paintings. As you can see, she discovered the original paintings and has submitted these color photocopies.
The images are very beautiful, especially of Catherine
Sadtler where you can now see that a wedding ring is featured on her left
hand, supporting the idea that the paintings were done at the time of the
Sadtler marriage in 1812. Additionally, there is a delicate and intricate
floral design in the shaw which she is wearing. Many of the details were
lost in scanning the images for the web.
