Charles Allen's Co. of New Jersey State Troops in 1782. The spelling of his name by court clerks and census takers varied but in his Revolutionary War documentation his name was spelled Loudon Carll. Some records and a family Bible spelled his name Lowden Carll. His son Thomas spelled the name Carle.
Estate and other records indicate that Lowden did business currying, tanning and selling skins and leather products. He was also the Coroner of Campbell Co., Kentucky from 1817 until his death in 1821.
