While still a child she united with the Presbyterian Church at Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was married April 6 1853 to G.K. Combs. The moved to Wayne County Iowa, in June 1868.. Seven children were born to this union, four of which are still living and it was a comfort to her to have them near her during her last illness. She passed peacefully away on May 1st 1909. Aged 79 years, 1 month and 10 days.2 |

About nine or ten o'clock he separated from the men who were with him and went to another part of the farm with his axe. At dinner time he failed to come in, and they went out to look for him and found that he had chopped down a tree and the tree in falling had draged a limb from another tree upon him and killed him. It was supposed he had been dead for two hours. He was a fine man about 65 years old and left a large family of adult children.3 |
