Bridgeman, in his "Inscriptions on Graves Stones." published in 1850, states that a stone
erected to the memory of Abigail Noble is the oldest found in the burying ground at Westfield, and contains this inscription, "Here lieth the body of Abigail the wife of John Noble, who died IV ly, ANO 1683, in ye 20 year of her age."
Abigail married John Noble, son of Thomas Noble and Hannah Wariner, on 13 Sep 1682 in Westfield, Hampden Co., MA. (John Noble was born on 6 Mar 1661-6 Mar 1662 in Springfield, Hampden Co., MA and died on 17 Aug 1714 in New Milford, Litchfield Co., CT.)
