  This is the third schoolhouse at San Quentin and it was dedicated in 1924. It is located on the prison reservation in the valley area a short distance from the west gate. It consists of two large rooms, two storage rooms, two coat rooms and two bathrooms.
  To the viewers left were the primary grades - first through fourth. Alma Duffy Shuffleton taught these classes for approximately 15 years.
  To the right was the room for the secondary grades - fifth through eight grades. Gladys Carpenter Duffy taught these classes for many years.
