The
Ding Dong Daddy of the D Car Line. married several women and
murdered them.
The
Ding Dong Daddy of the D Car Line was a streetcar conductor in San
Francisco. He was attracted to middle aged widows who were flattered
to have a man's attention. Also, Ding Dong Daddy would murder his
wives for their money. While he was in prison I was invited to appear
before a group of prisoners and give a short talk. They were a self-
organized group and called themselves The Seekers. Their object was
to study why they had gone wrong, and try to solve some of the
problem. Ding Dong Daddy was among this group and was one of their
leaders. I remember him as fat, well beyond middle age and bald.
There was nothing about him that I could see that would be attractive
to women.
