MR. F. W. OATEN AND MISS R. K. BAILEY
The wedding took place at the Roman Catholic Church, Bedford, on Saturday of Miss Ruth Katherine (Biddy) BAILEY, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. BAILEY of 43 Bushmead Avenue, Bedford, and Lance-Bombardier Frank William OATEN, elder son of Mr. F. A. OATEN and the late Mrs. OATEN of Bournemouth, and formerly of the Swan Hotel, Bedford.
The bride was given away by her father and Mr. C. B. BAILEY, the well-known County cricketer and brother of the bride, carried out the duties of best man.
There was one attendant, Mrs. C. B. BAILEY, sister-in-law of the bride.
The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father J. J. MOSSEY and Miss CORNELL was at the organ.
The bride was for six years on the private staff of Charles Wells Ltd., Horne Lane, Bedford, and she is a former member of the Riverside Tennis Club. The bridegroom was formerly on the finance staff of the Bedfordshire County Council and he is now in a similar occupation with the Essex County Council.
