PARKHAM.
Parishioners heard with deep regret of the death of Miss Julia BRAUND, at Hove Stone, on Thursday of last week. The deepest sympathy is extended to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard BRAUND, who for many years resided in the parish. The funeral took place at Thornhillhead on Sunday and was attended by many parishioners.
Considerable regret was also occasioned by the news of the death of Mr. Thomas SHORT, of Preddymead, Woolsery, who met his death under tragic circumstances in Cornwall. When trying to mount a lorry he slipped and the lorry passed over his body. Deceased was well known in the district. He was 42 and leaves a widow and eleven young children. The funeral took place at Woolsery on Friday.
