SWIMBRIDGE FUNERAL OF LANDKEY RESIDENT

The funeral took place at Swimbridge on Thursday of Mr. Royden PARKHOUSE, of Acland Cross, Landkey, who died in The North Devon Infirmary on Monday in last week at the age of 64. Mr. PARKHOUSE, who was a native of High Bickington, had resided at Wrafton and Putsborough before going to Portmore as a general farm worker. He was a member of the Swimbridge Lodge, R.A.O.B. His wife died eight years ago, and he leaves a son, Mr. J. W. PARKHOUSE, who is at present in the Merchant Navy, and a daughter, Mrs. F. C. PARKHOUSE, who resides at Landkey.

The Rev. H. J. A. RUSBRIDGER officiated at the service, and the immediate mourners were Mr. J. W. PARKHOUSE, son; Mrs F. C. PARKHOUSE, daughter; Mr. F. C. PARKHOUSE, son-in-law; Mrs. G. JOCE (Chulmleigh), sister-in-law; and Mr. and Mrs. W. JOCE and Mrs. W. BAKER, nephews and nieces.

Among others present were Mr. F. C. and Miss Doris PARKHOUSE (Barnstaple), Miss Olive JENKINS (Landkey), Mr. and Mrs. J. WEBBER, of Portmore (deceased's late employers), Mrs. T. HOLLAND, Mrs. JOHNS; and Messrs. J. ASHTON, T. HOLLAND, and B. ELLIOTT (representing the Friendship Lodge, Swimbridge, R.A.O.B.).

Flowers were: In loving memory of dear dad, from Fan, Jack, and Claude; To my dearest grand-dad, from his grandson John; In loving memory, from F. C., M. E., Dolly, and Aubrey PARKHOUSE (31, Salem-place); With deepest sympathy, from Mr. and Mrs. HOPPER and family; From the Friendship Lodge, R.A.O.B.
