BRAUND – PERRIN
Many friends gathered in the Parish Church of Barnstaple on Tuesday to witness the wedding of Mr. Edward James BRAUND, the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. BRAUND, of Posbury, and Miss Marjorie May PERRIN, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. PERRIN, of Parliament-street, Crediton, and grand-daughter of Mrs. WASHER, of Ladysmith Villas, Barnstaple. The Rev. J. KESTELL-CORNISH officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, was gracefully attired in white brocade satin and carried a sheaf of arum lilies.
Mrs. Roy PARKHOUSE acted as matron of honour, and the bridesmaids were Miss L. BRAUND (the bridegroom's sister) and Misses Monica MATTHEWS and Dulcie WESTLAKE (cousins of the bride). Master Malcolm JOY acted as page boy. The bridesmaids were respectively dressed in pale green, gold, and pale pink, and the page boy looked smart in white satin. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of pink tulips.
The bride's mother wore a dress of ice blue and the bridegroom's mother a floral frock, both having black accessories.
Mr. Roy PARKHOUSE (Exeter) was the best man.
A reception was held in Bromley's Cafe, and later the couple left for Ilfracombe for the honeymoon, the bride travelling in a powder blue and black outfit.
