NORTH DEVON FUNERALS

MRS. L. A. BRAUND, NORTHAM

Much regret was caused at Northam by the news of he sudden death of Mrs. Lucy Annie BRAUND, wife of Mr. George BRAUND, The Square, Northam.

Mrs. BRAUND, who had been in business with her husband at Northam for many years, was a much-loved personality. Before her marriage she was a Miss DENNIS, and belonged to a well-known Barnstaple family. She leaves, in addition to the widower, a son (Mr. Harold BRAUND) and a daughter (Miss Marjorie BRAUND).

The respect and esteem in which Mrs. BRAUND was held was evinced by the very large attendance at the funeral, which took place at the Parish Church, Northam, on Wednesday of last week. The vicar (the Rev. E. B. BRIDGER) officiated. The hymn, “Let Saints on earth in concert sing,” was sung during the service.

The immediate mourners attending were Mr. Harold and Miss Marjorie BRAUND, son and daughter; Sergt. Dennis BRAUND and Mrs. H. BRAUND, grandson and daughter-in-law; Miss G. DENNIS, sister; Mr. and Mrs. F. DENNIS, brother and sister-in-law; Mr. J. BRAUND, brother-in-law; Mr. J. BOYLES, nephew; Mr. G. HUTCHINGS and Mrs. ROSE, cousins; and Mr. PAYNE and daughter, uncle and niece.

The widower was unable to be present owing to illness.

Among the large attendance of friends were Mrs. M. BURCH, Mr. and Mrs. C. SQUIRE, Mrs. F. DARK, Mr. G. LOCK, Mr. F. HOLWILL, Mr. J. H. TAYLOR, Mrs. BARTON (also representing Capt. F. C. KELLY, Mr. A. BLAKE, Mrs. L. HEARN, Miss M. MOULTON, Mrs. Bob MITCHELL, Mr. J. WICKETTS, Mr. and Mrs. M. SAUNDERS, Mrs. K. GOSS, Mr. H. VANSON, Miss E. WITHECOMBE, Mr. C. LEY, Mrs. C. MILL, Mr. A.
