BLACK TORRINGTON.

Chapel Anniversary and Harvest Thanksgiving Services were held in the Bible Christian Chapel on Sunday and Monday. On Sunday the services were conducted by candidates from the College, Messrs. EVA and RUNDLE. On Monday an excellent sermon, based on James 1, 17, was preached by Rev. J. BALHATCHETT, the newly appointed minister. A tea followed, the following ladies presiding at the tables:- Mesdames JENN, HOBBS, and HOCKIN, Misses JENN, ISAAC and HOBBS. The evening meeting was presided over by the Rev. G. B. MAYNARD (Baptist). Appropriate speeches were given by Messrs. JENN (who read the financial statement), HOPPER, BALHATCHETT, and STEDEFORD. The announcement that Samuel BRAUND, Esq., of Adelaide, Australia (who has lately paid a visit to his friends in his native land), had forwarded through his brother J. BRAUND, Esq., a donation of £5 towards the Chapel debt was received with applause. Appropriate hymns were sung by the Choir. The collections realised £11.
