Funeral at Exeter
The funeral of the late Mrs. PARKHOUSE, of St. David's, a well-known member of the Bible Christian Connexion, took place at the Higher Cemetery yesterday. Deceased, who was a native of Ashreigney, passed away on Sunday last. The coffin, which was of polished elm, with brass mountings, bore the inscription: “Alice Parkhouse, died January 6th, 1907, aged 88.” The first part of the service was held in the Providence Chapel Northernhay-street, the Revs. W. TREFFRY and M. de JERSEY LARK officiating.
The mourners were Messrs. J. PARKHOUSE, Barnstaple, son; Mrs. HAYMAN, Exeter, daughter; Mr. W. PARKHOUSE, Exeter, son; Mrs. PARKHOUSE, Crediton, daughter; Mrs. SHORT, Taunton, daughter; Mrs. W. WESTCOTT, Exeter, daughter; Mrs. RICHARDS, Exeter, daughter; Miss HAYMAN; Misses RICHARDS, WESTCOTT, Carrie, Gertie, and Millie RICHARDS, and Mr. Percy RICHARDS (11th Hussars) grandchildren; Mr. SHORT, Taunton, son-in-law; Douglas and Harold RICHARDS, grandsons; Mr. RICHARDS, son-in-law; and Messrs. G. F. LORAM and W. JOHNSTON.
Others present included Mr. and Mrs. George ROBERTS, Mr. J. D. WHITE, Mr. and Mrs. VEYSEY, Mr. J. TAPSCOTT, Mr and Mrs. THOMAS, Mr. STENTIFORD, and Misses HANGER.
Mr. W. WESTCOTT was the undertaker, and Mrs. BICKFORD and Son supplied the hearse and coaches.
