DEATH OF OKEHAMPTON NONAGENARIAN.

One of Okehampton's oldest residents has been removed by the death at the mature age of 93 in the person of Mrs. Elizabeth Dustan BRAUND, of 11, Kempley-road, Okehampton, who passed away on October 24th. Deceased was a native of Okehampton, where most of her long life was spent. She was the daughter of the late Jonas SQUIRE, and married the Rev. Lewis BRAUND, who pre-deceased her 35 years ago. After spending seven years in Canada with her husband she returned to England, and resided respectively at Chagford, Yeoford and Okehampton. A life-long Methodist and the wife of a Methodist minister, her keen interest always centred in and around the Church of her first love, while her home was ever open to its preachers and ministers. The funeral took place on Saturday at North Lew, where a service was held in the United Methodist Chapel, conducted by Rev. L. TYLER, who also officiated in the churchyard, where the family graves are situated. The mourners were Mr. William SQUIRE and Miss Bessie SQUIRE (nephew and niece), Messrs. A. T. SQUIRE, Jonas SQUIRE, John SQUIRE (Chagford), John SQUIRE, Jonas and Albert SQUIRE, Mrs. SQUIRE (Croft), Mrs. W. SQUIRE, Mrs. GAY and Mrs. JONES. The bearers were Messrs. James and John FRIEND, D. BALSDON, jun., E. HEGGADON, R. HARRY and W. HEGGADON. A memorial service was held in the United Methodist Chapel, Okehampton, on Sunday, conducted by Rev. L. TYLER.
