HOLCOMBE ROGUS.

The Vicar (Rev. E. J. BARTON) has asked us to state that the supper to the ringers on New Years Eve was given by the Holcombe Rogus Club and not the Vicar.

There was a successful result to the social held on Boxing night, the choir fund benefitting to the extent of £10 4s 7½d. The total takings were £15 0s 0½d. besides which there were the following donations: Mrs. BENT 10s, Mrs. J. RUSSELL 2s 6d, Miss ROBBINS 5s, Anon 2s 6d.

The funeral took place in the Cemetery, Holcombe Rogus, on Saturday, of the late Mrs. Laura GRANT, wife of Mr. James GRANT, of Whipcott, Holcombe Rogus. The officiating clergyman was the Vicar (Rev. E. J.. BARTON). The family mourners were: Mr. James GRANT (husband), Mrs. CHAPPLE, Milverton (daughter), Mr. Charles TOOZE (brother), Mr and Mrs. W. BERRY (nephew and niece), and Clarence and Ronald BERRY. Mr. Fred WARREN, Norton (son-in-law), Mr. and Mrs. GOODWIN, Cotford (son-in-law and daughter). Mrs. HARVEY, Bridgend (daughter) was delayed and unable to be present. Among those present were Mrs. GARDINER, Miss M. DUNN, Mrs. ROWLAND, Mrs. CORP, Mrs. G. DRAKE, Mrs. J. DRAKE, Mrs. CUMMINGS, Mr. J. BAILEY, Misses May BROOM, Rosie WHITE, Doris TOOZE and Lily BUTTLE, and Lewis GOODING. The bearers were Messrs. E. WOODBERRY, W. J. WOODBERRY, G. and J. DRAKE. The coffin was of unpolished elm, the breastplate being inscribed: “Laura Grant, died 29th December, 1930, aged 71 years.”
