BUCKS MILLS.

The funeral took place at St. Anne's Church, Bucks Mills, last week, of Mr. Frederick BRAUND who passed away in Bideford Hospital at the age of 51 years. Deceased was the son of Mrs. Elizabeth Ann and the late Mr. Frederick BRAUND. He was a native of Bucks Mills, and worked as gardener at Portledge for many years. He served in the Devons during the Great War, and was a member of the British Legion. The service in St. Anne's Church was conducted by the Rev. R. W. GROOM (Rector of ALWINGTON), in the unavoidable absence of the Vicar of Bucks Mills (Rev. Guy WHITAKER). Miss DARK presided at the organ, and the hymns sung were “Thine for ever” and “Peace, perfect peace,” whilst the 23rd Psalm was chanted Immediate mourners included the widow); Messrs. Charles and Theodore BRAUND (brothers); Mesdames J. HEADDON, R. BRAUND, H. BOND and T. DAYMAN, and Miss Emily BRAUND (sisters); Mrs. C. BRAUND and Mrs. T. BRAUND (sisters-in-law); Messrs. R. BRAUND, J. HEADDON, T. DAYMAN and H. BOND (brothers-in-law); Mrs. P. ELLIS and Mrs. DARCH (nieces), Bideford: Messrs. G. JOHNS, W. GIFFORD, E. DAYMAN and Grenville BRAUND (nephews); Mr. and Mrs. Chris. BRAUND, Bideford. Messrs. R. and W. JAMES, M. and R. BRAUND, P. DANIEL and W. JAMES were the bearers. General sympathisers present included Mr. and Mrs. Stanley BEALE (Portledge), Messrs. F. DAVEY (Bucks Cross), W. PROUSE, W. HOCKING, and J. W. KIVELL (Fairy Cross), W. DARK (Westleigh), T. There was a large number of beautiful floral tributes sent, including one from the president and members of the Alwington Women's Institute.
