RESPECTED TRADESMAN AND METHODIST MOURNED

Funeral of Mr. Walter BRAUND of Bucks Mills

The death of Mr. Walter BRAUND, of Bucks Mills, a well-known tradesman in the Bucks and Woolsery neighbourhoods, has cast a gloom over the locality. Deceased, who was 55 years of age, was a mason by trade. He had also for many years been the caretaker and and <sic> esteemed member of the Bucks Mills Methodist Church. Of a quiet and retiring disposition, Mr. BRAUND was highly respected by all who knew him and deepest sympathy is extended to the widow and family in their sad bereavement.

The funeral took place at St. Anne's Church. Rev. Guy S. WHITAKER (Vicar of Bucks) officiated and was assisted by the Rev. A. ROEBUCK (Methodist Minister). Before leaving for the church the hymn, “For ever with the Lord,” was sung at the house.

The chief mourners included: Mrs. Walter BRAUND (widow), Messrs. Eric, Horace and Desmond BRAUND (sons), Mrs. LAMEY and the Misses Clara and Connie BRAUND (daughters), Mr. J. BRAUND (brother), Mrs. MOSS (sister), Mr. W. LAMEY (son-in-law), Mr. PEARCE and Mr. W. HOCKING, Bideford (brothers-in-law), Mrs. J. BRAUND, (sister-in-law), Mr Kenneth BRAUND, Bideford (nephew), Mrs. LAMEY, Clovelly, Mr. and Mrs. A. BRAUND, Clovelly, Mr. and Mrs. Chris. BRAUND, Bideford, Mrs. JAMES and Mrs. C. BRAUND (cousins), Mr. Reg BRAUND, Mr. K. BRAUND, Mr. Ernest BRAUND, Mrs. Joe BRAUND, Miss BRAUND, Mrs. BATES, Mr. SMALE and Mr. J. J. EGGINS (Bideford).

There was a large attendance of general sympathisers and many beautiful tributes were sent.

The bearers were Capt. T. W. BATE, Messrs. Reg. BRAUND, M. BRAUND, W. JAMES, C. BRAUND, and J. BRAUND.
