ON PROBATION
Mrs Emily WOOKEY (59), of Haddington Rd., Inns Court, was placed on probation for one year and ordered to pay £1 costs, when she admitted at Bristol Magistrates Court, yesterday, that she stole £1 15s while engaged as a domestic servant by Mrs Dorothy Florence OATEN, of 26, Cotham Lawn Road, Cotham.
She asked that three outstanding offences of stealing a total of £6 5s should be taken into consideration. Defendant told the magistrates that her husband had been ill and out of work, and they were very short of money. It was her first offence.
