WEST PENNARD.

SUDDEN DEATH. - Mr Robert CREED, one of the oldest and most respected inhabitants died suddenly on Thursday last. He had been a most successful farmer, and was one of the donors who presented the monster cheese from West Pennard to Her Majesty the Queen in 1837. He retired from business in 1876 and has resided since at South Town, where he died. His heart has been weak for some considerable time. On Wednesday and Thursday morning Mr CREED appeared to be in unusual good health, but just before eleven o'clock he complained of pains near his heart, and half-an-hour after death took place. The funeral took place at the churchyard, on Wednesday in the presence of a large number of persons. The mourners included Mr Sydney CREED, Mr Robert CREED, Master CREED, Master Harding CREED; Messrs D JACOB, C JACOB, W DAVIS, H HAWKINS, E CREED, R M MOODY, E SWANTON, C MOODY, W RUGG, CHAMPION, S SWANTON, H SWANTON; and Dr. BLAKISTON. The mourners were Messrs J CREED, W SWANTON, W ROE, and A MARTIN. The Rev – RAPSON (in the absence of the Vicar) officiated, and the coffin was covered with several beautiful wreaths and other flowers. Messrs J and F BESWETHERICK were the undertakers, and Mr HAIMES the coffin-maker.
