THE LATE MR. F. J. LOCKE OF SOMERTON
FORMER WALTON RESIDENT.
The funeral took place on Thursday last week of Mr. Frederick James LOCKE, 65, of Somerton, whose death took place on the Sunday previous. He lived his boyhood days at Walton and Aller, and after stays at Sidmouth and Chippenham established the business of F. J. LOCKE & Son, plumbers and repairers of agricultural implements, etc. He was for over twenty years engineer to the Somerton Fire Brigade. He was in constant demand as a violoncelist in the district. There was a very large attendance at the funeral, which was conducted by the Rev. Arthur LAMB, Supt. Minister of the Mid-Somerset Group of Congregational Churches. Firemen acted as bearers. The family mourners attending were Mrs. F. J. LOCKE (widow); Mr. and Mrs. Overt LOCKE (son and daughter-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. Denis LOCKE (son and daughter-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. Courteney LOCKE (son and daughter-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. R. WINSLADE (son-in-law and daughter); Mr. Newman LOCKE, Street, and Mr. H. V. LOCKE, Horley (brothers); Mr. and Mrs. Arnold LEE, Hambridge (brother-in-law and sister); Mr. and Mrs. J. JEANES, Stembridge (brother-in-law and sister-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. C. MALE, Kingsbury Episcopi (brother-in-law and sister-in-law); Messrs. Rufus and Douglas MALE, Kingsbury Episcopi (nephews); Mrs. C. MOUNTER, Kingsbury Episcopi, and Mrs. S. COX, Street (nieces); Mrs. B. MALE, Kingsbury Episcopi (sister-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. George WILLIAMS, Bridgwater (brother-in-law and sister-in-law); Mr. Henry WINSLADE and Mr. Walter WINSLADE (brothers-in-law); Mrs. Metford LOCKE, Bristol (sister-in-law); and Miss Gwen WINSLADE (niece).
