YEOVIL.

There were no cases to come before the Yeovil borough bench on Tuesday, and Mr. J. G. RAYMOND presented the Mayor with a pair of white gloves to mark the occasion. Superintendent RUTHERFORD presented his annual report, which was of a satisfactory character. The Mayor said the magistrates were of the opinion that the number of licences was still in excess of the demand, and they had decided to refer the following licenses to the adjourned licensing meeting: Chough's Tap, Holland's Inn, and the Volunteer Inn.

MARRIAGE OF MISS E. A. STEEL AND MR. F. D. DENMAN. The marriage was solemnised on Thursday, at the South Street Chapel, of Mr. F. D. DENMAN, of Horton, third son of Mr. Wm. DENMAN, of White Lackington, and Miss Elsie A. STEELE, third daughter of Mr. J. STEELE, of Kingston. The officiating ministers were the Revs. W. G. BUTT (pastor), F. G. STEELE (Birmingham, and brother of the bride) and E. W. MILLS (of London), The bridge was attired in a grey costume, trimmed with white lace and hat to match, and carried a beautiful bouquet of Christmas roses, hyacinths, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by the Misses Mabel and Annie STEELE (sisters) as bridesmaids, who were attired in grey costumes with white hats, and wore gold bracelets (the gift of the bridegroom). A reception was afterwards held at the home of the bride, which a large number of friends attended. Later in the day Mr. and Mrs. DENMAN drove to Yeovil Junction, and entrained for Gravesend, where the honeymoon is being spent. The bride's travelling dress consisted of a grey costume with a fur set (the gift of the bridegroom). The happy couple were the recipients of a large number of handsome presents.
