DEATH BY DROWNING. - On Friday a sad accident happened at Hambridge-mills, near Ilminster. Several labourers went to bathe in the “whirlpool,” near where Miss COOMBE's French governess was drowned a short time since. One of them, Walter HARWOOD, being able to swim but imperfectly, was cautioned by his comrades not to come where they were swimming. He ventured, however, and speedily sank. Issac WINTER swam to his assistance, and both went down together. WINTER at the bottom of the river disengaged himself from the drowning man, and rose to the surface. Another comrade dived several times, and on the last occasion caught hold of the deceased, but was too weak to bring him to the surface, and the body was not recovered until an hour had elapsed.
